I got challenged to a lightsaber duel today in school.

This type of situation, although in this case fairly unique, happens to me more often than you might think.

I don't think I had done anything to provoke this challenge, like giving the student an "F". Or telling him I was his father. Or single-handedly wiping out his peace loving planet. Nope, I just walked into class and was told "When they invent lightsabers, we should fight".

Perhaps this means I'm approachable, you know, cause you wouldn't tell the same thing to, say, the principal or your Spanish teacher. Or maybe it was a cry for attention. Outright insanity cannot be by any means dismissed, either.

All I know is that when they do finally invent lightsabers, I'm wiping the floor with this kid. ;)

Back in Black

Well I'm back again, after my 3 month (unannounced) hiatus. It just seemed like work was really piling on everything, and something needed to go in order for me to remain sane. But now as the year is winding up, the load has eased up a bit, and I can hope to get back in to some semblence of regular posting again.

Of course, as I write that the load is lessening, I'm avoiding working on 3 DVD projects, an awards presentation, a Star Wars thing I've been thinking about, and various other things. But I'm listening to Enya right now, so I can't get too worked up at the moment. Her CD's should be labeled with warnings saying "Do not operate heavy machinery while using this product." Or something similar.

So anyway, I'm back for the time being, and hope to share some insights I've learned throughout the year. Ironic that just as I return to doing some posting, my main inspiration packs up for the summer.
